Using Excel for Appraisal Graphs
by Administrator on Sep 22, 2017
If you are willing to take the time to work with Excel you will find that the program offers a number of options that will provide great analytics and professional-looking chart result. The program is well-suited to real property since you can keep data on a single property in rows or in columns.
There are few programs that work so well for an appraiser, you can dowload data from the local MLS or you can create information provided by the tax assessor. Once you have it in an Excel format you can discover the simple statics like mean and median to advanced that include regression.
The newer the version of Excel the more presentation options are built into it. The newest version offers a variety of tables into which your data can be placed that offer various colors and formatting with little or no effort expended by you.
Comma seperated value (.csv) files can be transformed into Excel files with little effort, reformatted and then used as if they were developed in Excel. From Realtor files you can download data on entire neighborhoods with the click of the mouse.
With only a few key strokes or mouse clicks you can put an entire dataset into Excel and view it in a wide variety of graphs from scatter graphs to line and bar charts. The flexibility of the program is amazing.
