I'm an appraiser and an optimist who survived the Savings & Loan crisis of the 1980's and 1990's and its fallout including the implementation of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) of 1989. Cancel that Appraisal !
There are not many things that are more deflating than accepting an appraisal order made by a bank, individual or company and then having them turn around and cancel it. It's not so bad when it has only been a few hours, because by then I probably only have 50 to 100 files downloaded on the property plus the searching that I have completed in my work files, but when its been days I can have invested several hours and literally hundreds of files in my work file. Searching for Appraisers and Appraisal Services Online
Do banks search for appraisers online? It’s a reasonable question to ask. Banks generally form appraisal relationship within their local communities where they do most of their business or like many they work through an appraisal management company (AMC), but some search online when they have a customer who wants to buy a home and secure a mortgage for it in another state.
